World Environment Day 2017

The World Environment Day was observed in the school on 5th June 2017 with all enthusiasm. The day started off with programmes in the morning assembly. The pupils spoke on the importance of maintaining a clean campus and emphasis the need to use no plastic and go completely on ecofriendly objects. The Principal spoke on the occasion. A bulletin board competition on the topic “Receding glaciers on the Himalayas – cause and effect” was held for all classes. The Principal along with the teachers and students of Std XII planted saplings to strive the importance of maintaining green clean environment.

Admission 2017-2018

The readiness of the children to which class the admission is sought for ( Std 1,5,6,9, UKG (oral)) will be evaluated in the written form on 01-04-2017, Saturday instead of 31-03-2017 at 9 am in view of the proposed Motor Vehicle Strike.

Spic Macay 2016

On 6 th of August the Spic Macay society for the promotion of Indian

classical music and culture amongst youth visited Chinmaya

Vidyalaya, Vaduthala with the aim of enriching awareness of Indian

heritage in the modern day youth. Dr Vedanta Naga Chalapathi Rao

along with his co-artists spent 3 hours with the students. Dr Vedanta

Naga Chalapathi Rao belongs to one of the 70 families residing in

Kuchipudi village in Andhra Pradesh. The audience listened with rapt

attention as the artists demonstrated with explanation the nuances

of the ancient art form Kuchipudi. The Kuchipudi dancer stressed on

the role of art forms in reflecting life truly and its educational value

in the present day setup.

It was a very entertaining learning experience for the students of

Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala and we remain eternally grateful to

the Spic Macay organisation for imparting their knowledge onto us.

Action Breaks Silence
On 14th of July Action breaks Silence, a UK based establishment conducted a workshop at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vaduthala for the girls of classes 8, 9, 10 and 11. It was inaugurated by Ms Deby Steven – Founder and President Action breaks Silence. This event was organised by Circle Inspector of North Police station Mr Y Nizamudhin. It was based on the topics Empowerment and safety for women and children. Ms Deby Steven, supported by a team of local assistant instructors trained by Mr Guruckal K P Suresh, stressed on how self-defence is not to be considered as a martial art. Instead in today’s turbulent scenario wherein women are exposed to all kinds of risk it is an important life skill to be acquired. She also reiterated that the knowledge of defence of techniques would sharpen their reflexes when they encounter dangerous situations.

70th Independence Day Celebrated

The 70th Independence Day celebrated with aplomb in the school premises. Captain Sudeep Nambiath was the chief guest of the day. After the flag hoist by the Chief Guest there was a march-past by the 4 houses of the school, followed by patriotic songs and speeches by the students. The chief guest addressed the students and highlighted on the need to uphold the solidarity of the nation and preserve our hard won freedom. Totally, the programme " Freedom 70" ushered in the patriotic fervour and the spirit of oneness, unity and brotherhood in all children. The school is also in the patriotic moods as the celebrations are on for 15 days. Everyday there is a special programme.

LABYRINTH - 2016

The Inter School Competition Conducted by Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya, the following students won the third prize in the Videography Competition.

State Level Ramayanotsvam

Chris Peter Fernandes of Standard VII C has won Second prize in the state level Ramanayotsavam conducted by Kerala Chinmaya Yuva Kendra in Pencil Drawing and Painting.

Parvati Venugopal of Standard VII A has won Second Prize in the Ramayana Quiz in the state level Ramanayotsavam.

CIR MUN 2016
CIR Model united Nations 2016 organised by Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala took place on 28th July.The Chief Guest of the day was Mr S R Nair, a prolific author, entrepreneur and public speaker. Principal Ms Urmila Ranjit, Vice Principal Ms Prathibha and Aravind S Kumar the secretary general of MUN attended the same.
Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor won the best delegation award.
Cash Prize was distributed for the best delegate and high commendation for each committee and a best delegation award for the school which had the best overall team sent.
