“Career Guidance Talk”
Imagine in your minds a day when you can wake up and find yourself enthusiastic to go for your work and what if that happens everyday? You would simply love your life to the core. Well, if this was the case with your life, it is a clear indication that you have chosen the right career. But as teenagers, we students definitely need some guidance while we choose our careers, particularly in an age when your interests keep changing every second.
Our school gave us a wonderful opportunity in this aspect by arranging for a career guidance talk by an eminent person. It was held in the school auditorium on 09.08.2011 from 8.30 am to 9.30 am. The talk was conducted by Dr. Krishnakumar, head of Pediatric cardiology department of AIMS, Kochi and it was indeed a very interactive session. Dr. Krishnakumar interacted a lot with the students and most important of all, made the students think on specific aspects of choosing a career. He often related many experiences of his own to the points he wished to explained to the students. The students were free to talk to him and ask him questions.
Dr. Krishnakumar stressed on the important of students looking out for aspiring fields prior to making a career choice. He also insisted on interacting with the role models and reading more biographies of them. The talk ended with a beautiful thought by Dr. Krishnakumar – “ Do what you love and Love what you do”.
