PAANCHAJANYAM
ART BEATS OF CHINMAYA
The programme, Paanchajanyam, was organized by Chinmaya Vaduthala chapter of SPIC MACAY on 17/08/2011. We have called it Paanchajanyam as it symbolizes the energy with which our school works for popularizing the different aspects of Indian cultural heritage among students. The programme was inaugurated by our Director, Mrs. Kamakshi Balakrishna. Our Principal- Mrs.Maya Mohan, Administrator- Mr. Sundaram, teachers and students from classes VI, VII and VIII attended the ceremony. The chief guest for the day was Mr.Edanad Rajan Nambiar who is an eminent Chakiar Koothu artist. He has performed in more than 6000 venues in India and abroad. Mr.Rajan Nambiar has received numerous awards which include the Hyderabad Mythri Award, Sootha Vidooshaka Ratnam and Guruvayoorappan Award for his outstanding contributions and for Chakiar Koothu he was awarded the Naatyasree Award. Mr.Rajan Nambiar is currently doing his doctorate at Kalady Sree Sankaracharya University. He is the Director of Koothambalam Study and Research Centre of Fine arts. We, the staff and students of Chinmaya enjoyed a tremendous Chakiar Koothu performance by Mr. Rajan Nambiar. It was indeed a wonderful opening to Paanchajanyam as it took us very close to our rich cultural heritage, which we believe is the ultimate aim of our efforts.
