INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The office bearers for the academic year 2011-2012 officially took up their responsibilities on Wednesday 13th July, 2011.The formal investiture ceremony was held in the conference hall from 8:30 a.m. The ceremony auspiciously began with the lightening of the lamp by our beloved Principal Maya ma’am. The occasion was graced by the presence of our dear parents who had come there to show us their support and co-operation. The former office bearers were also present to encourage and help us with the preparations as well as to hand down the responsibilities. The gathering was welcomed by Roshini.R.Menon, cultural committee member. Maya ma’am addressed the gathering by reminding the office bearers of the challenge they had undertaken as well as the parents. This was followed by the installation ceremony wherein the former office bearers handed over the badges and adorned each with sashes. Rajat Chopra and Archana K.S delivered their acceptance speech as the Senior Head Boy and Head Girl. The badge holders took the oath recited by Jewel Ann Maria, literary committee, to fulfill their duties as justly as possible and to the best of their ability. Just as every happy event has to come to an end, our much awaited investiture ceremony came to an end with the Vote of Thanks by Bharath Senan, cultural committee member. The comparer of the event was Manaswini. With this event the new office bearers officially became the Brand Ambassadors of the school.

Mathruchaya

On the morning of 17^th of December, 2011, a group of 16 students from the Interact club visited the Mathruchaya Sevashram located in Aluva. Only after the formal introductions from the children, teachers and staff on both the sides, did the real fun and interaction begin! We initiated the programmes with a few medleys of Christmas Carol, after which the boys from Mathruchaya took the stage. They sang and played their respective instruments with vigour and enthusiasm. Watching them perform, we realised how much talent was in abundance, but sadly the only thing missing was the opportunity to perform. This was followed by the games, in which we had Musical Chairs, followed by Antakshari. After that, we distributed Christmas Cards, gifts & the clothes, biscuits and health drinks, a few among the many goodies the different classes had contributed. Lastly, a sadya was organised for them which they enjoyed thoroughly. And, as all good things have to come to an end, sadly this did too. But, the memories of the interaction with the other children, will be etched in our minds for long after it’s over…
