The International yoga day was celebrated on 21st June 2018. Principal Ms Prathiba V formally inaugurated the programme and advised the students to practise yoga daily to maintain physical and mental fitness. Under the expert guidance of the Yoga teacher, Mr Rijil, the Student from classes III to VIII performed asanas such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Chakrasana, Padmasana and Chakrasana with great dexterity and ease of body movements. The demonstration of the asanas was accompanied by a short description about the postures and health benefits. Students from classes II to IX did various breathing exercises and meditation. They also took the yoga pledge expressing their commitment to preserve the knowledge of yoga through regular practice to keep themselves healthy. The yoga celebrations concluded with inspiring speeches by students on how yoga can be beneficial for achieving a fruitful and healthy life.
